New Delhi: Former Union Minister and AICC General Secretary Mukul Balkrishna Wasnik assumed charge of poll bound Meghalaya succeeding Dr Dhaniram Shandil on Thursday. Wasnik, an MP from Maharashtra, was also nominated as a member of one of the three committees formed to take charge of Lok Sabha polls next year.

Wasnik was felicitated by the former Union Minister Vincent H Pala, AICC Secretary in charge of Meghalaya Sanjay Bapna, National Women Commission Member Ms Wangsuk Syiem and others here.

Dr Shandil is now a Cabinet minister in Himachal Pradesh.
