Agartala: AICC General Secretary and former chief minister of Goa Luizinho Faleiro on Monday protested the Tripura government’s allegation regarding the Centre’s ban on creation of new posts and filling-up of vacant ones in various departments.
He stated that the Centre had been asking the states to ensure gainful employment for youngsters by enhancing quality of education and opening up industrial investment in bigger way. “The Centre never put a cap on employment but introduced 16 flagship programmes, including right to employment and education. But it is the Left Front government in Tripura which fails to implement these,” Mr Faleiro claimed.
Releasing the 32-page election manifesto of the Congress led opposition alliance in Tripura, he said the commitment of the party was to usher in a new blueprint for development of Tripura as a whole and take it forward in all respects at the national perspectiv.
“The decision to extend central pay scales to all state government employees will be implemented expeditiously and efforts will be made in a phased manner to regularize services of all employees,” he asserted.
Despite requests the state did not furnish the financial requirement for implementation of the central pay commission but if the Congress comes to power the 5th Tripura Pay Commission will be set up in correspondence with the 7th central pay commission, he said.
The manifesto promises that poor people will be provided 7 kg rice per head per month free of cost besides, supplying 35 kg rice at Re 1 every month. Every family in the rural areas will be ensured work for at least 150 days at the rate of Rs 200 per man-days. (UNI)
