Fraud

One AC Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that one Salam Shah, who claimed to be the Imam of Sobribari, had cheated him of Rs 11 lakh.

One Rose Mary Maisram lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that unknown miscreants transacted an on-line purchase amounting to Rs 46,005 with her Bank of India Credit Card.

Assault

On January 26 at about 7 pm, Mensu R Marak and his accomplices assaulted Wilkgrish D Shira, Chegrik N Sangma and Sengsat D Sangma at Jadi Bazar, South Garo Hills. As a result, the victims sustained injuries.

Kidnap bid

One DN Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on January 26 at around 5.30 pm, his niece had boarded an auto rickshaw driven by one Sanjeng Ch Sangma from Tura Super Market towards Hawakhana, Tura in West Garo Hills. However, the driver forcibly took her towards Araimile, Tura. The victim managed to escape by jumping off the auto rickshaw. Police have arrested the accused.

B’deshis held

On January 25 around 1 pm, police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, Md Alim Uddin and Md Bilal Ahmed from Rymbai village in East Jaintia Hills.

Theft

On January 24 at around 2.15 pm, unknown miscreants stole two vehicle jacks valued around Rs 7,000 from Mawryngkneng Petrol Pump in East Khasi Hills.

A complaint was lodged at Madanrting PS that on January 21 morning, unknown miscreants stole 1,580 litres of diesel valued around Rs 75,745 from the underground storage tank of Peak Service Station at Laitkor, Shillong.
