SHILLONG: The main Opposition NPP will target ruling Congress for its failure to address law and order problems, lack of development and issues of corruption during the election campaign.
Speaking to The Shillong Times over phone from Selsella, his home constituency in West Garo Hills, the Opposition Leader Conrad Sangma said the party would focus on the State and locally-based issues during the poll campaign.
“As far as state is concerned, there is lack of development in all spheres and the main cause of concern is the law and order problem in Garo Hills,” he said.
According to Sangma, the issues of corruption on the part of Congress-led Government would also be reflected in the campaign.
Though his father and National President of NPP, P A Sangma is not contesting the elections, he will lead the campaigning.
He also said that though Tura MP Agatha Sangma from NCP is not part of NPP, in her heart and soul she is very much with the party.
He also ruled out that the formation of the new party like NPP would have any impact in the results.
