Designated poll officials directed to attend training

TURA: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has though a communiqué issued a strict warning to all designated polling personnel that absence during the first level training of polling personnel for the conduct of the Assembly polls scheduled for February 8 will attract the provisions of 134 of the Representation of Peoples Act and Meghalaya Civil Services Conduct Rule.

Stating that request for exemption cannot be taken for granted unless there is a specific order Bakshi said that no one should excuse themselves from election duty.

Informing that all medical records for exemption on urgent medical grounds will be examined by a five-member Medical Board headed by the District Medical and Health Officer, Bakshi urged all drafted personnel to bring along their EPIC and two pass port size photographs with their name and department mentioned behind to the training.

Meanwhile two general observers, B Anand and Samir Kumar, and one police observer, Mukesh Kumar Mudgal, have arrived here and are camping at Tura Circuit House New Block in Room Nos. 5, 6 and 4 respectively. Complaint cell for Dadenggiri set up

The Election Commission of India has appointed Kripa Shankar Saroj as general observer for the three constituencies under the Dadenggre Sub-Division Office – 44-Raksamgre, 45-Tikrikilla and 49-Dadenggiri.

The official will be camping at Tura Circuit House and at Dadenggiri Circuit House. Anyone wanting to contact the official can do so at 8575064004, it was informed. Also, anyone wanting to lodge a complaint with regard to any election related matter can do so to the Control Room and Complaint Monitoring Cell at Dadenggre at 9615293762, informed election officials.

It was also informed that complaints can be made to the Expenditure Monitoring Cell and Expenditure Monitoring Control Room at Dadenggre at 9615716482.
