Accidents across Meghalaya

In a vehicular related trauma case reported from bus depot opposite the Anjalee Cinema Hall at Iewduh, a mechanic, who was underneath a Mahindra Max for repair purpose, received serious injuries in the chest area when the vehicle came down on top of him after the jack supporting the vehicle came off. Marshan Kharshiing (34/M) was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. The incident occurred on February 18 around 2pm.

A driver of a coal laden truck (ASOICC – 8290), Apgar Hussain (32/M) sustained injuries when the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction at Mawsawa, under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on Feb 17 around 8:30pm. The injured was shifted to Shillong CH.

An unknown motorist sustained injuries after he fell off his motorbike when it skidded at Lad Wahkadait in Mawblei, Shillong. The injured was shifted to the hospital. The accident occurred on February 17 around 3:30pm. Another motorist, Niksang Marak (19/M) sustained injuries when his motorbike collided with another motorbike coming from the opposite direction at Araimile, Tura on February 16 at 8pm. Marak was shifted to Tura CH.

Mimanshu Das (32/M) injured his left knee after he fell off his motorbike when it skidded near Aurobindo Ashram in Bishop Cotton Road, Shillong on February 16 around 6:30pm. He was shifted to Shillong CH.

A Maruti 800 (MLO5K – 3002) went off road and overturned at Thlumuwi near Shkentalang, under Amlarem Block, West Jaintia Hill. The incident happened on February 16 around 8:15pm. Sameer Nath (28/M) was shifted to Jowai CH and then to NEIGRIMHS. However, the victim expired en-route to Shillong.
