State unit leaves for Youth fest

SHILLONG: A delegation of 100 young boys and girls of the State under the leadership of State Escorting Officers, Bobby Wahlang and KR Nongbri on Tuesday left Shillong to participate in the Assam North East Youth Festival to be held at Guwahati.

The 3-day programme which kicked off on Tuesday is being sponsored by the Union Government through the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with the support the Assam government. The youth of the State will be participating in various competitive events. In this Assam North East Youth Festival, there will also be other programmes like youth convention and seminar, life skill development besides others wherein resource persons from Delhi, Chennai and others from different parts of the country will attend the programmes to impart trainings to the young guns.

The funds for the journey and preparation of the youth who are taking part in this festival is being sponsored by the State sports and youth affairs in order to open up opportunities for the youth to showcase and highlight their talents.
