SHILLONG: The BJP candidate from Nongthymmai, Ehkupar Nongrum on Wednesday said that the State and the country needed BJP as the party is known for its good governance. He was addressing a public meeting here at the RR Colony on Wednesday.
It may be mentioned that he will compete against the senior Congress leader Charles Pyngrope and UDP candidate Jemino Mawthoh besides other candidates.
According to Nongrum, repairing of roads and uninterrupted water supply besides construction of PHCs will be his priority.
Meanwhile, the leader of BJP North East Sampark Cell Sanjay Dev Dhar attacked the Congress party for various scams which have been unearthed.
“The Guwahati-Shillong four lane project is not done by Mukul Sangma but by Atal Bihar Vajpayee,” he asserted before the gathering. According to BJP leader, it was the BJP who thought for the welfare of the North Eastern tribals and formed the Department of DoNER.
