People’s choice reflects our efforts: Lapang

 SHILLONG: President of the MPCC DD Lapang on Sunday expressed his gratitude to the people of the State for the confidence, trust and support that they extended to the Congress Party in the recent assembly elections.

“The people have given a clear mandate in its favour and it is also reflective of the fact that the Congress Party, with its time tested ideology and vision for the welfare of all sections of the people, have earned the privileged support of the populace of the State for which the Party feels deeply honoured”, Lapang said in a statement issued here on Sunday.

He also stated that the party is committed to serve the people. “The party also ensures that all commitments made in the Manifesto will be translated into reality”, he added.

Thanking the people for their spirited participation in the electoral exercise recording a very high turnout, Lapang sought the participation of all sections of the people in the march ahead.

He also congratulated all the newly elected members to the 9th Meghalaya Legislative Assembly and expressed his gratitude to all party workers and functionaries who gave their best efforts and worked with all dedication and sincerity.

He also extended his best wishes to the students who will be appearing for different examinations.

Meanwhile, MPCC working president Deborah C Marak thanked the people of the Williamnagar Constituency who have given her their trust, support and confidence. She also promised to work tirelessly for the overall development of the constituency and the State so also to improve the condition of life of the people and she will do her best to achieve this.
