Intl sustainability conference to be held

SHILLONG: IIM Shillong is all set to host its third annual 3-day International sustainability conference ‘SUSCON’ beginning March 6. The conference would be inaugurated by former President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

The conference is expected to witness considerable international participation from stalwarts in the field of sustainability. The conference would host a number of interactive sessions and talks on the concept of sustainable development, on ideas leading to a better and sustainable future.

The sessions would have speakers like Dr. Peter Pruzan, Professor Emeritus, Copenhagen Business School, Allen Sequeira, Advisor – Group HR, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Dr. Jayanta Bandyopadhyay, Advisor, International Union for Conservation of Nature to name a few.

The topics raised and discussed would be wide and varied ranging from Natural Resource Management and Environmental Sustainability Issues to work-life-balance of working women: a catalyst for organizational sustainability.

The event would be attended by the delegates, both national and international, dignitaries from the government, the faculty and students of IIM Shillong as well as the local public wherein the aim of spreading awareness about the need of sustainability is expected to be successful.
