NONGSTOIN: The Western Youth Federation (WYF) Nongstoin Circle demanded the PWD department, Nongstoin Division to immediately repair the road from Sohpian to Nongstoin covering a distance of 7km.
During the visit of the (WYF) Nongstoin Circle led by its president Mawkordor Kharsyiemlieh and other members, it was found that the condition of the road was so bad that covering a distance of 7km took nearly 45 minutes.
“It is a shame to see that before entering Nongstoin, one is welcomed by such pathetic road conditions,” Mawkordor Kharsyiemlieh WYF Nongstoin circle president said while adding that the road from Sohpian to Nongstoin was outrageously small.
Kyntiew Syiem also said that the 7 Km Sohpian to Nongstoin was excluded from the DPR of the two lane project Shillong – Nongsoin and Tura, Syiemlieh therefore demanded that the PWD department sanctions immediately for widening and repairing of the said road from any scheme of the Government.
WYF also demanded the PWD department to immediately repair the road or they will face the consequence of actions.
