New Delhi: Former Rajya Sabha MP Thomas Sangma, who had lost in the recently held Assembly election in Meghalaya, was on Friday appointed general secretary of the National People’s Party (NPP) in charge of North East.

The appointment was made by party president Purno A Sangma. The appointment will come into immediate effect, a party notification said.
