Talks continue in Delhi on Cabinet list

Untitled-1 copyNew Delhi: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, AICC general secretary in charge of Meghalaya, Mukul Wasnik and other top AICC leaders held hectic negotiations throughout the day on Friday to finalize the list of Cabinet Ministers in Meghalaya who will take oath on Monday or Tuesday.

Till the time of filing this report talks were going in the AICC headquarter, while the hopefuls were anxiously biding their time at the Meghalaya House here while waiting for finalization of the list.

Coinciding with the arrival of the Chief Minister here, some of the Congress MLAs and supporting Independents aspiring for ministerial berths had also arrived in Meghalaya House on Thursday night and on Friday.

Prominent among the leaders who are present in the Meghalaya House include MPCC working president Deborah C Marak, and former ministers in the MUA Cabinet – Prestone Tynsong, AL Hek, HDR Lyngdoh and Dr RC Laloo.

Some of the newly elected party MLAs and supporting Independents have also been camping in the national capital.

Most of the Congress ministers in the previous Government are likely to be retained in the Cabinet which would be sworn in only next week since Governor RS Mooshahary is out of station.

Incidentally, the Governor also arrived here on Thursday.
