Agartala: Internal squabbling and dissidence in Tripura congress has taken worst turn with the announcement of election result and a section senior party leader blaming State PCC president for debacle.

To restrain the practice of open criticism against party leadership, PCC had expelled former minister and Leader of Opposition Jawhar Saha from the party for six years last night.

In a statement, PCC General Secretary and MLA Ashis Saha said Mr Jawahar Saha was expelled for his anti-party activities and remark against State PC president Sudip Roy Barman and CLP leader Ratan Lal Nath.

Earlier, Jawahar Saha had levelled charge against incumbent PCC president Sudip Roy Barman and CLP leader Ratan Lal Nath for cheating supporters by making a clandestine deal with ruling party.

” The Congress was defeated at the hands of Left Front due to treachery of the duo, ” Jawahar Saha alleged saying both of them had sold the party in exchange of cash and other benefits.

He also stated that LF won this election by manipulating the EVMs in connivance with both the leaders because people had largely voted for Congress.

” EVM is not at all tamper proof and it is very easy to manipulate the control unit with a simple device, which was known to both Mr Roy Barman and Mr Nath, ” he pointed out adding how they believe, a machine made by human being could not be tampered with by human in 21st century. (UNI)
