Guwahati: The Government of Assam has declared the offices of President of Jorhat and Sonitpur Zilla Parishads for Scheduled Tribes; President of Morigaon and Kamrup (M) Zilla Parishads for Scheduled Caste considering the percentage of Scheduled Tribes population of the Zilla Parishads of the state in a descending order on rotation basis.

Out of these, President of Jorhat Zilla Parishad is reserved for Scheduled Tribes Woman and President of Kamrup (M) Zilla Parishad is reserved for Scheduled Caste Woman.

An official source said, Vice-Presidents of Kamrup and Golaghat Zilla Parishads are reserved for Scheduled Tribes; Vice-Presidents of Bongaigaon and Lakhimpur Zilla Parishads are reserved for Scheduled Caste.

Out of these, Vice President of Kamrup Zilla Parishad is reserved for Scheduled Tribes Woman, on rotation basis.

President of Goalpara, Cachar, Darrang, Bongaigaon, Sivasagar, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Karimganj and Tinsukia Zilla Parishads are reserved for women on rotation basis and by drawing of lots.

Vice-President of Dhubri, Morigaon, Karimganj, Kamrup (M), Hailakandi, Dibrugarh, Nalbari, Nagaon and Barpeta are reserved for women on rotation basis and by drawing of lots.
