FICN racketeer apprehended

 SHILLONG: BSF troops of Umsiyem Tent Post, East Khasi District apprehended one Bangladeshi FICN racketeer on Saturday evening.

The FICN racketeer has been identified as Md Azim(23/M), a resident of Sylhet Bangladesh.

During search, the party recovered FICN having a face value of Rs 40,000, Bangladeshi Taka 2060 and other items.

According to BSF, the seized FICN was being smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market.

In addition, BSF troops of Meghalaya Frontier also seized 36 Cattle, 5550 bottles of Phensedyl,17 kg Hemp, Forest Produce and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 44,39,000 during the last week.

Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned departments for further disposal and legal action as per law of land.
