Assault

lOn March 18 at around 1:30 pm, one unidentified miscreant slashed the face of a hawker, Anup Kumar Paul (23/M) with a knife near Bhutia Market, GS Road. As a result, the victim received a gash on his face and was shifted to Woodland Hospital, Shillong from where he was released after First Aid. Matter is under enquiry.

lOne Wom Latang lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on March 14 around 7:30 pm, Deimon Dhar, Pynbait Talang and Thomas June Ryngkhlem, assaulted and threatened him with dire consequences at Umdiloh, Mihmyntdu (WJH). The miscreants also damaged his Maruti Alto car (ML-04A-0928).

lOn March 14 around 12:30 pm, Aharnesh Daring, Veterinary Field Assistant of Damalgre Sub-Centre, brandished a knife and threatened one Ragen M. Sangma and his family members with dire consequences at Damalgre (WGH).

Theft

lOne Manuj Sarkar and Vijay Kr. Gupta lodged a complaint at Khanapara PS that on March 17 night, unknown miscreants stole their motorcycles (AS-01-AX-6323 & ML-10A-1765) from their residence at 9th Mile, Baridua (RB). Matter is under enquiry.

lOn March 16 at around 4 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05H-0861) belonging to one Alphius K. Lyngdoh from Riat Laban Kynjat Football, Shillong.

Rape

One girl lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on March 8, one Shambhu and his three accomplices raped her at her residence at Ladrymbai (EJH).

Missing

Regarding missing report of three boys, Siljrang J. Sangma (17), Subil M. Sangma (17) and Mechan M. Sangma (19) from Athiabari (WKH), further report received indicated that Ditson M. Sangma (father of one of the missing boys) had called Mechan M. Sangma on his mobile-phone. One Hindi speaking person received the phone call but neither identified himself nor disclosed the whereabouts of the missing persons.

Harassment

One Sabitri Basfor lodged a complaint at Tura PS that her husband, Suraj Basfor tortured her physically and mentally at Bauxihat village, Assam since the day of her marriage (April 18, 2012), demanding dowry from her. After nine days she informed the matter to her mother, who took her back home at Tura (WGH). Recently the complainant learnt that her husband has remarried at Guwahati, Assam.

Arrest

Jowai Police arrested three persons, Deimon Dhar, Pynbait Talang and Thomas June Ryngkhlem in connection with a murder case under Jowai PS.

Body recovered

One unidentified male body, suspected to be of Boro community, was recovered at Mawbon Village under Shallang PS, on March 17. The deceased is 5 feet 4 inch tall, and is suspected to be around 45 years of age with fair complexion and dark hair. He was found wearing a dark pink gamacha with orange colour stripes on it. The body of the deceased is kept as Shallang PHC morgue. Concerned relatives may contact S Nongtnger, MPS, Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin Ph.
