Gang rape in Williamnagar
On the night of March 19, one Gio S Sangma (27) and his accomplices gang-raped a minor girl (14) in his quarter at Kusimkolgre Forest Check Gate, East Garo Hills District. Police have arrested the accused.
Arrest
Police arrested one Enas Ali Hazarika in connection with an attempted kidnapping case.
Drugs seized
LD Lakiang lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on March 20 at around 6.30 pm, VDP members of Ladthadlaboh Jowai apprehended one Wa-I-Deilang Phawa and recovered two packets of drugs and two syringes from his possession.
Theft cases
Dr (Mrs) Duitara Pde lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station that on March 20 at around 10 am, two persons Sunny Kharlukhi and Michael Kharlukhi stole a 40-feet long 8mm steel rod from a construction site at Nongrim Hills, Laitumkhrah. They also snatched away one cell-phone from one of her labourers. Police have arrested both the accused.
On March 12 at around 1 am, miscreants stole a TV set, VCD player and clothes valued at Rs 1 lakh from the residence of Biroy Sungoh in Nartiang, West Jaintia Hills.
Trespass
Sara Mary Lyngdoh lodged a complaint at Mawlai police station that one Rymphang Nongrum trespassed into her house at Mawlai, and damaged property. The accused also attempted to outrage the modesty of her daughter Cassandra Lyngdoh.

The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills has informed that Mohd. Ahmed, Mohd. Zarrar Siddhibappa alias Yasin Bhatkal alias Imran alias Shahrukh, Tahaseen Akhtar, Wasim Akhtar Shaikh alias Monu alias Hasan, Asadullah Akhtar Javed Akhtar alias Haddi alias Tabrez alias Shakir alias Danial and Waqas alias Ahmed are wanted by the Anti Terrorism Squad, Mumbai Police in connection with the investigation of the bomb blast cases at Mumbai on July 13, 2011 and at Pune on August 1, 2012.
