Bank Adalat session held

SHILLONG: A Bank Adalat was organised by the State Bank of India at its Shillong Main Branch premises here on Friday with the primary objective of giving the bank’s customers whose loans under various schemes had fallen into arrears and overdues, a chance to settle their dues over mutual negotiation and amicable discussion on the spot.

Supervised by Deputy General Manager (Business and Operation) Administrative office in Shillong Deepak Kumar Lalla, the Adalat saw as many as 72 eligible cases amounting to Rs 2.01 crore were settled.

The DGM while announcing the bank’s positive attitude towards settling overdue and sticky loans with more such interactive programmes in future, reiterated the bank’s commitment to recover its bonafide dues by maintaining good and amicable relations with its borrowers.
