Sixth Schedule: Dorbar Hima to discuss amendments

SHILLONG: The meeting of the Dorbar Hima, Hima Mylliem Syiemship under the Office of the Syiem Mylliem, Mawkhar, will discuss proposed Amendments to the Sixth Schedule of the constitution, proposed by Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday from 12 noon.

The Dorbar Hima is holding this meeting to share their views on the proposed amendments on the request of the KHADC.

Earlier, on March 4, the KHADC had notified the constitution of a seven-member sub-committee to go into the proposed amendments.

KHADC CEM PN Syiem will be its chairman and Executive member in charge Elaka Lamphrang Blah has been appointed as its vice chairman.

The other members of the committee are KHADC joint secretary DG Syiemiong as member secretary while the other members are Syiem of Maharam, N Syiemiong, Sirdar Mawdon Sirdarship Harlinjai Skhemlon, John Kharshiing and AK Nongkynrih.
