Gram Sevak suspended for fund misappropriation

 JOWAI: The District Programme Coordinator, also the Deputy Commisioner, West Jaintia Hills has issued an order to place Glosstar Pale, a Gram Sevak of Thadlaskein C&RD Block under suspension as he was found guilty in misusing the public money meant for payment of daily wages under MNREGS.

The Secretary, Village Employment Council (VEC), Standling Suting was also disqualified and a disciplinary proceeding has been initiated against him.

The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commisisoner has taken the initiative on the allegation after FKGJP activists from Jaintia Hills District lodged a complaint against the VEC Secretary and also the Gram Sevak for fraudulent withdrawal of cash meant for wages under MNREGS at Nongrim Bambthong.

Based on the FKJGP’s complaint, the Deputy Commissioner set up an enquiry team headed by the Block Development Officer, Thadlaskein and based on the report of the BDO, the Deputy Commissioner was satisfied that there is prima facie case against the gram sevak and placed him under suspension with immediate effect pending disposal of disciplinary proceeding being initiated against him.
