Truck hijacked
One Dilip Kumar, driver of truck (AS-19C-3135) lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on March 28 around 12:55 am, unidentified miscreants hijacked his truck along with the spare driver Sreedon Roy (45) from Mawiong, Shillong. Later at 3.30 am, the miscreants abandoned the truck along with the injured spare driver at FCI Junction. The victim was shifted to CH Shillong and the matter is under enquiry.
Truck detained
On March 27 around 3.30 pm, Ri Bhoi Police detained one truck (AS-01AC-7071) and one person Uttam Kr. Singha (17) at Umsning (Ri Bhoi ). The truck was reported missing from Beltola, Assam. Matter is under enquiry.
Arson
On March 25 at about 6.30 pm, unidentified armed miscreants stopped one truck (UM-08CA-1392) driven by Momin Miah at Chengba Adapgre (South Garo Hills), fired several rounds and later set fire to the truck. As a result, the truck was completely gutted. The driver and other occupants escaped unhurt. Police recovered one round live 7.62mm ammunition, two empty cases of 7.62mm ammunition and one empty case of 7.65mm ammunition.
Apprehended
Shekhar Marak lodged a complaint at Mendipathar Police Station that on March 25 at about 11.30 pm, while returning from Dainadubi with Additional SP, North Garo Hills and on reaching Harinkata , they came across three miscreants who blocked the road to commit robbery. On seeing the Police, the miscreants fled away. However, the Police team managed to apprehend one Britwal and recovered one country-made gun along with two ammunitions.
Theft
lOn March 25 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-3790) belonging to Anthony K. Sangma from Lower Babupara (West Garo Hills).
lOn March 24 night, unknown miscreants stole one computer from Khatsoo Ripnar Brightstar UP School, Dkhiah East (West Jaintia Hills).
lOn March 23, one unidentified armed miscreant forcibly took away a licensed SBBL gun belonging to Kenikson Sangma from his house at Bolmoram Adinggre (East Garo Hills).
lOn March 22, unknown miscreants stole one Laptop computer and accessories from the house of Dr. Alok Chakravorty at Oxford Hill, Shillong.
lOn March 8 circa 1 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07A-6472) belonging to Dewithson Sangma from his garage at New Tap Kantolguri (North Garo Hills).
Dowry
Khulsirul Islam Mondal lodged a complaint on March .21 at Tura Police Station that his daughter Amifa Islam Mondal had married one Sahid Ahmed on Feb. 2, 2008. However, the son-in-law had demanded Rs. 6 lakh and a vehicle as dowry. Being unable to meet his demands, Sahid Ahmed is intending to marry another girl.
