IIM holds annual convocation

SHILLONG: Altogether 104 students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong were presented with the Post Graduate Diploma in Management completion certificates during the annual convocation of the premier institute.

Delivering his convocation address, Sudhir Jalan, an alumni of IIM-Calcutta and former president of FICCI implored on the students to look at Entrepreneurship as an avenue for job creation rather than simply being job seekers.

Jalan while keying on the theme of Entrepreneurship during his address provided the examples of stalwarts like Dhirubhai Ambani, Sunil Mittal, Naresh Goyal, Kishore Biyani and Vandana Luthra amongst others who excelled in their line of business as India’s leading entrepreneurs.

Earlier, Director Prof Sengupta, while presenting the Annual Academic Report, highlighted the achievements of the Institute and student community in the recent past.

Like previous years, this year too marked a number of students bagging various medals of recognition for their performance.

Falguni Raj Kumar, Chairman, and members of the Board of Governors of IIM-Shillong, Director of the Institute Prof. Keya Sengupta, Faculty Members and parents of the graduating students were present on the occasion, a release said here.
