U-16 cricket: Jail Road Boys, St Nanak win

Shillong: Jail Road Boys HS School defeated Ruprekha Parishad HS School by five wickets and St Nanak School defeated Queenie Secondary School by 57 runs in the 8th IP Das Memorial (Junior under 16) Inter School Cricket Tournament at the Cricket Grounds, Polo.

In the first match, Rupre-kha Parishad won the toss and elected to bat, but only made 81 all out in 19.3 overs. Rinku Marak scored 23 while Sahauddin took 3-12.

In reply, Jail Road Boys made 84-5 in 16.3 overs with Fricky Kharkon-gor scoring 17 while Rajnesh took 3-14.

In the second match, St Nanak won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 117-9 in 20 overs. Bikash Kumar made 19 while Ahmad Ali took 5-22.

Queenie SS were all out for 60 in 14.5 overs. Ranjan Kumar took an incredible 6-8 in 3.5 overs.

Next matches: Shillong Secondary School vs St Xavier’s HS School, St Anthony’s HS School vs Laban Bengalee HS School.
