SHILLONG: KSU president Daniel Khyriem on Thursday asked the State Government to implement the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in the State at the earliest.

“It would be better for the Government to implement the ILP before we start to agitate,” Khyriem warned while speaking during the programme Kyrsiew Ri (Khasi Awakening) at Mawkhar after organising a procession to commemorate 35 years of existence of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Thursday evening.

He further said that the KSU along with other NGOs are tired of waiting wait and it was time for the Government to fulfill its commitment.

Earlier, the KSU released a booklet titled Khasi National Awakening Day.

On the occasion, the KSU leaders were accompanied by former KSU president Paul Lyngdoh and Samuel Jrywa, former general secretary Hamlet Dohling, FKJGP president Joe Marwein and other NGOs leaders.
