 SHILLONG: Prof. Dinendu Choudhury, former Head of Botany department passed away on April 6. He was born on 1948 and joined St. Edmund’s College on April 1, 1970.

He retired from service on June 30, 2008 following which he served as the Vice Principal in College and then the Higher Secondary Section till December 31, 2012.

As Head of the Botany Department, he took a number of initiatives to make the department become a vibrant and active.

He was also one of the founder members of the St. Edmund’s College Staff Co-Operative Society. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a grandchild.
