Liquor smuggler apprehended

 SHILLONG: In the intervening night of April 5, BSF troops of Gasuapara in South Garo Hills district apprehended three Bangladeshi smugglers.

The three smugglers have been identified as Panpush Pattang, Jusia Maraking and James Chirang. They were arrested while they were trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During preliminary interrogation it was revealed that Panpush Pattang, one of the apprehended is a liquor smuggler and was infiltrating into India to smuggle liquor.

In another incident, on April 6, BSF troops of Baldamgiri in South West Garo Hills district apprehended one Indian FICN racketeer identified as Ibrahim while he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During search, the party recovered FICN face value Rs 5,500 his possession. The seized FICN was meant for circulation in the Indian market.

Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned departments for further disposal and legal action as per law of land.
