SHILLONG: The re-assembled budget session will begin from Monday with the Opposition set to nail the Government on its various lapses.

The recent violence in parts of Shillong, pending issue of influx, rise in the crimes against women and children, anomalies in the functioning of jails, education scam, delay in disbursing salary to the teachers, border dispute and law and order problems in Garo Hills will be the recurring issues to be raised by the Opposition.

The Chief Minister’s reply to both the discussion on the Governor’s Address and the Budget will feature in the session. The Deputy Speaker will also be elected during the session. MUA nominee and NCP State president Sanbor Shullai is all set to be elected as the new Deputy Speaker as the Opposition UDP has decided not to field any candidate.
