SHILLONG: The East Jaintia Hills police on Sunday stated that the four-year-old minor who was recently kidnapped from Khliehriat is yet to be traced even as they maintained that investigation is still on.

It was on April 3 at around 3:30 pm, when the father of the girl, Skot Mukhim received a call from a mobile-phone (No. 9863815798) which informed him that his minor daughter is with the callers somewhere in West Khasi Hills. Later on April 4 at around 4 pm, Mukhim received another call from the same mobile-phone in which the caller demanded Rs 30 lakh as ransom to be paid within five days.

Police ruled out possibilities that the miscreants involved in the case are with any militant outfit even as they stated that the kidnapping was made with the sole intention of milking money.
