SHILLONG: HSPDP legislator Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit almost broke into a song in the floor of the House after being disappointed with the ruling of Speaker AT Mondal to disallow his adjournment motion on the inter-State boundary problem.

“It would be better to make the House a theatre if members are not allowed to take up pertinent issues concerning the State,” Basaiawmoit said in reaction.

He, further, told the Assembly Speaker that he would really sing a song if his adjournment motion was not admitted.

Chokpot MLA Clifford R Marak (GNC) raised the issue of water problem in the MLA hostel before moving his call attention motion.

This move by the GNC MLA brought a huge laughter among the audience who were present inside the House.

“Before moving my call attention motion, I would like to bring to the notice of Assembly Speaker AT Mondal about the irregular water supply in the MLA Hostel,” Marak said while urging the Speaker to address the problem at the earliest. Left with no option, Mondal had to make an assurance in the floor of the House that he would look into the problem.
