Nagaland earns Rs 24 lakh from excise penalty

Kohima: Nagaland government has earned Rs 24.11 lakh through imposition of fine on smugglers of narcotic drugs and liquor last financial year and 364 people were arrested with liquor and narcotic drugs worth Rs 2.05 crore. The annual progress report for fiscal 2012-13 of the Excise and Prohibition Department made available during the first session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly held last month. (PTI)
