 SHILLONG: The Deputy Chief Minister in charge Revenue, Prof. RC Laloo told the Assembly on Wednesday that the Government gave permission to set up or transfer of flats and apartments only in European Ward of the Shillong Municipality where the Meghalaya Transfer of Land (Regulation) Act, 1971 does not apply.

During the Question Hour, Ardent Basaiawmoit (HSPDP) wanted to know what steps the Government will take to prevent violation of land transfer act in view of the emergence of flat system in the State.

Radiation

To another question by Basaiawmoit, Health Minister AL Hek said that the Government had taken steps to ascertain radiation from mobile towers in the State.

Function

In reply to a question of Basaiawmoit regarding any ban on holding public function at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Polo, the GAD minister said that Ground no.5 is available for holding church functions, music concerts and exhibitions among others.
