Loreto Convent sports meet held

SHILLONG: Loreto Convent organised a school sports meet, where, apart from the customary march past from the four houses of the school, drills, cultural dances of the North East and gymnastic displays added to the occasion.

The sports meet saw as many as five girls’ schools and four boys’ schools taking part in the invitational event.

St Mary’s bagged the gold while Kiddie’s Corner and host Loreto Convent bagged the silver and bronze respectively.

In the boy’s event, St Edmunds took home the gold, while Kiddie’s Corner and St Anthony’s bagged the silver and bronze respectively.

The meet also witnessed a host of other events with students of different houses competing for the top honour.

Ibanri Shullai was adjudged the best athlete from among the senior section while Deimaphi Warjri and Eliada Lyngdoh were declared best athletes from the ‘B’ and ‘C’ category.

The Best March Past Contingent was bagged by Tagore House (Red), while Best Disciplined House went to Gandhi House (Yellow), while Tagore House took home the honour as the overall champion of the meet.
