JOWAI: A school building was set on fire by unknown miscreants at the disputed Moolber village in Jaintia Hills on Saturday night.

Sources informed that miscreants set the Mooler LP School building on fire at around 11 pm on Saturday. “The school was constructed by the Assam Government few years ago”, a source said.

The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) who held a peace meeting recently with the Karbi Students’ Association strongly condemned the incident.

According to the JSU President, Rikut N Parien, the gruesome act was committed in order to create a law and order problem in the area.
