Programme

The P A Sangma Foundation will launch a Youth development programme, “Ignite Young Minds” on May 3. As part of this programme, the Foundation will organise its inaugural Career Guidance Programme, at Langtor Higher Secondary School, Mairang, West Khasi Hills on May 3 at 10 AM.

 Annual Day

The 15th annual day of the BSF Senior Secondary School will be held on May 3 at 5 pm in BSF auditorium. BSF Meghalaya Frontier IG Sudesh Kumar will be the chief guest.

 Meeting

NEEPCO employees union has reiterated their commitment towards overall upliftment of working class. On the occasion of May day, a special meting was also organized to discuss various issues comporting the working mass.

 Interactive session

Alcoholics Anonymous Foundation Group, Shillong will organise a presentation on alcoholism and AA as a resource for help followed by an interactive session at 7pm to 8pm at Don Bosco Youth Centre on May 3. Dr AL Deshpande, an expert on the panel for alcoholism on Amir Khan’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’ 9th Episode; Ex-Class, a Trustee of AA India and practicing psychiatrist in Mumbai will be present as the chief resource person.

 Recruitment

The direct recruitment examination (Paper I) for postal assistants and postal assistant (SBCO) in North East Circle will be held on May 5. The list of eligible candidates for the said examination has already been made available on the India Post website and admit cards can also be downloaded from the same website (www.indiapost.gov.in). The examination venue will be at Shillong College from roll nos-2514100001 to 2514101000 and at St Anthony’s College from roll nos-2514101001 to 25141016110.

 Prohibition

The deputy commissioner of West Khasi Hills in collaboration with the District Child Protection Officer has informed that selling of dendrite, correction fluid (White ink eraser) and other intoxicants substance to children below the age of 18 years is strictly prohibited and punishable under law.

 Ki Dak Kti

As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebration, Sein Raij Niamtre will organize a programme called “Ki Dak Kti”, at the Sein Raij Dorbar Hall Quallapatty on May 3 from 4.30 pm onwards to offer tribute to the founder members. On this occasion, a felicitation programme will be held and the U Syiem Lakriah Lifetime Achievement award will also be awarded. In continuation of the celebrations, a special prayer service will be held at the Dorbar Lyngkhooh Snem from 12:30pm onwards on May 5.
