PA Sangma foundation launches career guidance programme

SHILLONG: The PA Sangma Foundation on Friday launched a youth development programme called, “Ignite Young Minds” a career guidance initiative for the youths with special focus on rural areas.

The programme was launched at Langtor Higher Secondary School in West Khasi Hills near Mairang in the presence of HSPDP MLA from Nongkrem, Ardent M Basaiawmoit, former leader of opposition Conrad K Sangma also the resource persons for the programme, principal of Langtor H/S Secondary School, EE Kurbah, besides representatives of the PA Sangma Foundation, teachers and students. The programme was organized by PA Sangma Foundation in collaboration with Langtor Higher Secondary School.

The aim of the programme was to enlighten, enrich, guide and shape the lives of the school-age children and the common people of the State in general and the youths in particular in choosing their career in life.

The main focus of the career guidance programme is rural areas as the youth from rural areas lack proper knowledge of the career options and opportunities so as to reach out to them, educate and enlighten them of the various career options according to one’s purpose, passion, possibilities and power.
