SHILLONG: The Breakaway faction of Achik National Volunteer Council (ANVC-B) has alleged that the Special Operations Team (SOT) personnel of Meghalaya police forcibly tried to enter their camp at Tura.

ANVC-B leader Rimpu Marak on Friday expressed surprise over the incident stating that the ANVC-B cadres are already under the peace pact.

“Why these things are happening when we have already come out for settlement,” Marak said.

It may be mentioned that the camp of the outfit at Tura house around 150 cadres who have come out for the settlement.

According to Marak, the police through their act are only trying to provoke the cadres when cadres are living peacefully in the camp without disturbing any citizens.

“If they have any problem they can talk to me but why should they try to enter the camp,” he added.

While seeking a clarification from the district administration on the act of police, the ANVC-B also asserted that they will take up the matter with the State Government.

He said that the police acted in such a way a day after reports came out in the media that around 150 cadres are staying in Tura camp.
