Arrest

lIt has been reported that on May 11, local residents apprehended one unidentified person at Krang village under Sohra PS (EKH) alleging that he kidnapped a child. Police and SWAT personnel have rushed to the village.

lOne Kitesh Ch. Sangma lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that on May 5 night, one Abdul Ahmed kidnapped his minor daughter from Tikrikilla (WGH). During investigation, the girl was rescued from Gouripur (Assam).

Assault

One Sebinus A. Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on May 8 night, one Shyam Sunar bit off his left index finger at Dobasipara, Tura (WGH).

Accident

On May 9 at around 8.30 pm, one truck (AS-01L-3162) driven by Mrinal Sharma knocked down one Bikari Rai at Tura Bazar (WGH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Mission Hospital, Tura where he succumbed to his injuries. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.

Theft

lOn May 8 at around 3 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-2767) belonging to one Letning M. Marak from his residence at Balading Rua, Tura (WGH).

lOne Panna G Momin lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on May 7 at around 8 pm, unknown miscreants broke into her room at Nehru Ading, Tura (WGH) and stole one bag containing Rs. 30,000, one ATM Card and one EPIC.

lOne D Moirangthem lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on May 7 night, unknown miscreants broke into M/s Lifeline Medicos at Dermile, Tura (WGH) and stole Rs. 19,540.

Extortion

J. Sohshang, Secretary, West Khasi Hills Commercial Truck Owners & Operators Association lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on May 5, Members of Shallang Athiabari Riwiang Truck Drivers & Handymen Association had forcibly collected Rs. 100 per truck at Banglapluh-Porsih Road, 1 km away from Riangdo (WKH).

Liquor seized

lPolice on Saturday arrested two women, Dawa Dolma of AC Lane and Suman Lama of Dragon Restaurant for selling liquor illegally. Police seized 9100 ml beer and IMFL 6840 ml from Dolma and 3256 ml beer and loose bottles from Lama. The arrested persons were later released.

lLater on the same day, police arrested five women-Swen Kharkongor (980 IMFL seized), Huselan Nongsiej (1950ml of beer and 1060 IMLF seized), Clisida Nongkynrih (1980 IMFL seized), Jailmoda Kharkrang (1600 IMFL seized) all from Mawlonghat and Nima Lama (2600ml of beer and 900 IMFL seized) from Splendid restaurant for selling illegal liquor.
