SHILLONG: Five prominent writers would be conferred the Bhasha Samman award by the Sahitya Akademi.
The award ceremony would be held at Soso Tham Auditorium on Monday at 3.30 pm. The recipient of the award are Narayan Chandra Goswami and Hasu Yasnik for Classical and Medieval Literature, Sondar Sing Sawian (Khasi literature), Addanda C Cariappa and late Mandeera Jaya Appanna (Kodava) and Tabu Ram Taid Mising literature.
Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh would hand over the awards in the ceremony.
