SHILLONG: At a time when credentials of some of the private universities in the State is being questioned following the CMJ University scam, the former Home Minister and Vice Chancellor of the Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) RG Lyngdoh asserted that the MLCU is one of the best universities to have come to the North East.
Talking to media persons here recently about the CMJ university controversy, Lyngdoh said, “We cannot use the same brush to paint all the private universities which are the driving force around the world.”
Lyngdoh would assume the office of Vice Chancellor on July 1, 2013.
On the RTI revelation that MLCU has allegedly misused funds released to the tune of Rs 10 lakh by the State Government for training aspiring Civil Services candidates, Lyngdoh admitted that there has been miscommunication and misunderstandings even as he said that the University is doing an exemplary work in the field of education.
“Whenever a tree has fruits, people throw stones at it,” he said.
