Female decadal growth higher than men in Arunachal

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh recorded women’s decadal growth rate higher than that of men during the decade 2001-11.

The female decadal growth rate was 29.30 per cent, while that of men was 23.10 per cent, according to the Primary Census Abstract (PCA) Data that was released here on Tuesday.

During the decade, population of the state grew 26.03 per cent against 27.00 per cent in the previous decade.

The total population of the state as per the 2011 census is 13,83,727, an increase of 2,85,759 persons in absolute numbers of population during the decade. The highest decadal growth in population has been recorded in Kurung Kumey district (113.5 per cent). (PTI)
