Cook murdered

One Nillu Sangma (23), a cook of St Anthony’s College canteen was stabbed to death by his own friend, Michael Sangma on Wednesday night at LumShngain, Nongrah. Though he victim sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS, the Medical Officer on duty declared him brought dead. The accused, was arrested on Thursday. When enquired by the police, the accused said he had committed the murder under the influence of intoxicants. They both hail from Darang in Assam.

 Arrest

On May 15 around 9 pm, Police while conducting vehicle checking at Mukdanggra (West Garo Hills) arrested five persons, Rangsil A. Sangma, Vickey Ch. Marak, Silseng B. Sangma, Williston Ch. Marak and Jubil M. Marak and recovered one DBBL gun, five live ammunitions and a dagger from their possession.

Threat case

lOn May 15 around 10 pm, Lumlang Myrthong threatened Gilbert Jyrwa and his family members with dire consequences.

lOn May 5 around 7 pm, one Karan Marak and others in a vehicle (ML-08C-7448) went to the house of Stevie M. Sangma at Upper Wadanang, Tura and threatened him and his family members with dire consequences.

Missing

On May 15 night, Babul Medhi (38) reported that his truck (AS-01-DC-9355) was found missing from Umran Niangbyrnai (Ri Bhoi).

Body recovered

lOn May 15, the body of Murli Shah (27) was recovered from a coal quarry at Shi Kilo, Dkhiah East (East Jaintia Hills). He was reported missing since May 8, 2013.

lOn May 14 around 3:30 pm, one unidentified body was found lying on NH-62 at Pathargittim (South Garo Hills). The deceased is suspected to have been knocked down by one truck (AS-18C-4499) which was found abandoned near the PO with bloodstains on its tyre. Cadaver was sent to CH Williamnagar for PM examination.

Assault

Rapbor Khyriem (29) reported at Nonghyllam AD Camp that on May 14 around 9.30 pm, unknown miscreants went to the premises at M/s Laloo & Co. at Nonghyllam and assaulted Dabi Sten and Pynbhalang Khyriem. As a result, they sustained injuries and shifted to CHC Ranikor.

Theft

lSincerity K. Phanbuh, Sub-Divisional Public Relation Officer, Sohra lodged a complaint at Sohra PS that on April 23, 2013 unknown miscreants stole a ladder from her office at Saitsohpen (EKH).

lOn May 12 around 2 am, unidentified miscreants attempted to break open the safe of the Axis Bank ATM at North East Adventist College, NH-44 Khliehtyrchi (West Jaintia Hills) thereby damaging the machine.
