NONGSTOIN: The Western Youth Federation, Nongstoin Circle has demand the Government to post more staff in the Office of Assistant registrar of co-operative society, Nongstoin.

After repeated complaints from the people of the district, the WYF on Friday paid a visit to the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative society in Nongstoin. During their interaction, they found that there were many office rooms but less number of staff. The delay of the paper work was mainly due to insufficient staff in the office.

Upon enquiry, they found that the office had no Data Entry Operator (DEO) and what irked them more was the absence of a cleaner in the Office. The Office had no water or proper fencing and the degrading state of the building turns worse with cattle using the office as their shelter.

Mawkordor Kharsyiemlieh, president of the WYF Nongstoin Circle said that the Government should send an additional staff because the people faced a lot of problems while pursuing paper works at the office.

The WYF members were also shocked to see that even the work of the Registrar was being done by the UDA ranked persons due to the lack of an Officer.

In this regard, the WYF said that if the government did not do anything, they would hold a series of agitation programmes.
