War memorial

 SHILLONG: Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Subhash Joshi and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) representative, Major General Aziz Ahmed will jointly unveil a war memorial on May 25 at Kalipara village of West Garo Hills. The memorial is dedicated to the nine BSF jawans who died while engaging Pakistani attack during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.The Kalipara village assumes significance in view of the fact that the Pakistan Army started intermittent firing and shelling on Kilapara outpost and Dalu area where nine BSF soldiers sacrificed their lives safeguarding the Indian territory.
