SHILLONG: A woman and her two children were brought to Laban police station for questioning regarding a crime committed by her husband. It was alleged that the police locked up the wife and the children as her husband was involved in stealing a motorcycle.

When contacted, East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang denied that the children were kept inside the lockup.

“Only the wife was brought for questioning on the whereabouts of her husband and the children were handed over to their relatives,” he claimed.

In a late realisation, police released the woman on Sunday night.
