 SHILLONG: Taking note of the alleged brutal assault and abuse of one Banjop Suiam by four policemen led by Manoj Basumatary from Lad Rymbai police outpost on Sunday, the Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council has asked the administration to institute a magisterial probe to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the incident.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the group also demanded that the DGP must institute a separate departmental enquiry.
