SHILLONG: The Chancellor of the controversial CMJ University is still at large even as the State CID has been on the hunt to nab him ever since the controversy cropped up.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in-charge of CID, SK Jain, told reporters that the CID will arrest him at an ‘appropriate’ time. “We will arrest him at an appropriate time and also post the arrest information on the police website,” Jain said.

He, however, failed to elaborate when the ‘appropriate’ time will come for the CID to arrest CM Jha, the Chancellor.

Though the CID has arrested the small fishes, the ‘big fish’ is still at bay.

The controversy cropped up after Governor RS Mooshahary filed an FIR against the University for flouting rules and ordered that the degrees issued by it should be derecognized.

According to Jain, the CID team will be dispatched at an appropriate time to arrest Jha in whichever place he might be hiding.
