Concern over rise in kidnapping

 JOWAI: Concerned over the rise in kidnapping cases in the mineral rich East Jaintia Hills District, Dorbar Shnongs of Ladrymbai B, Ladrymbai Datsimpein, Ladrymbai Dongwah and Ladrymbai Khliehdupon under the banner ‘Ka Sein Pyllun Ladrymbai held a meeting recently and decided to issues directives to all ‘outsiders’ to get themselves registered with the respective Dorbar Shnong.

Speaking to The Shillong Times, Donush Siangshai, Rangbah Shnong of Ladrymbai B said, “Cases of kidnapping for ransom have suddenly increased in the last few months and such incidents of kidnapping have caused great concern in the society.

The Ka Sein Pyllun Ladrymbai comprising four Dorbar shnongs in Ladrymbai decided to enroll every temporary resident who is residing in Ladrymbai area.

“We request all ‘outsiders’ who are residing in Ladrymbai to get themselves registered with the headman of the area”. Siangshai who is the president of the Ka Sein Pyllun Ladrymbai said.
