NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Student Union (KSU) Mawthadraishan Circle has strongly opposed the proposed shifting of Residential School Nongshillong to Kynshi West Khasi Hills recently formulated by the local MLA, Brolding Nongsiej.

The KSU rather were of the opinion that the pending developmental scheme should be implemented without delay and more schemes should be work out for the benefit of the local people.

Talking to pressmen here on Saturday Khraw Syiemlieh KSU Mawthadraishan vice president said that if the MLA goes ahead with his proposal the KSU will not remain a silent spectator.

Khraw also said that recently before Brolding was not an MLA of Mawthadraishan the residential school was proposed to Nongshillong where the Acting Syiem of Mariaw Chairfulman Syiem was willing to donate the land for setting up the school building.

After the Syiem of Myriaw gave the land for the school, the education department went for inspection and the education department accepted the proposal.

Khraw said that Nongshillong is the right place for setting up the residential school considering the fact that there are no good schools in the concerned area.
