SHILLONG: With the Government failing to take any steps to resolve the problems faced by the students of CMJ University, the KSU has come forward to help the agitated students who are in a state of dilemma.
KSU president Daniel Khyriem on Monday led a delegation to hold a discussion with the Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) if they could absorb the CMJ University students in the streams which are available in the University.
After meeting the MLCU authorities, Khyriem informed that the University has laid down certain terms and conditions for their accommodation.
According to Khyriem, they are ready to accommodate the students in the same class/semester that they are pursuing.
While applauding the gesture of the University, the agitated students expressed concern over the financial implications.
Pointing that the problem has been resolved for the students whose courses are available in the MLCU, the students said that the fate of those students whose courses are not available in the MLCU still hangs in the balance.
Meanwhile, the students have decided to give the State Government a six-day deadline to resolve their problem. “If the Government fails to resolve our problem within the given deadline then they will be forced to resort to agitations,” the students said while speaking to newsmen on Wednesday. According to the students, they have sought an appointment with Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Education department since May 22.
“We are yet to get a favorable reply from the Deputy Chief Minister,” the students said.
